However, I would also say that not only does everyone have their own idea of courtesy/gallantry, but the previous generation (aka the baby boomers) have pretty much ingrained this almost anti-gallantry idea in our semi-conciousness. Girls, would you let a guy open a door for you, if you were walking together? I thought I would, but I was genuinely surprised that I didn't let him, and not just once, but many times. Do you find it gallant to go dancing (traditional dances like foxtrot or waltz or country line or couple dances), but how many of us actually seek that kind of thing out? it's like romance. we all like the idea of romance, don't we? but when it comes down to it, we surprise ourselves in our attitudes towards it. Our generation is one of unhappy disillusion and hopeful happiness, in my opinion. Of course, this is all my opinion, and anyone is free to disagree or agree.
