Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) k-mix by Shakira [link]
Here's my characters Chocolate "Coco" Lemur and his wife Julyah. I could imagine Julyah singing this song in one story in particular: Coco was the only surviving lemur of his tribe--every other, save his uncle, had been killed in a mass murder, mostly because of the issues of racism between Cartoons and Humans in Madagascar. His kind of lemur, the coquerel Sifaka, is one of the endangered species on that island (THAT is a true fact, actually). They're endangered because of habitat loss. Coco's father was the Cartoon Prime Minister of Madagascar, who worked side-by-side with the Human Prime Minister to seek peace.
When he and KICS return to Madagascar because of racial issues, the lemurs ask him to take his father's place as spokesman for their kind. Coco was actually reluctant to do it because he's always been comfortable as the follower, being Spike's little foster brother and Satellite's big foster brother. He had been comfortable being the goofball. But after some talking from Spike and Coco's wife, Julyah, he takes a stand, explains their situation, and ultimately saves his race from extinction and brings peace back to both Humans and Cartoons.
At the end of the story, Julyah sings this song to him as everyone helps in planting seeds and seedlings in order to build up what Humans carelessly cut down.
Julyah Sifaka was born and raised in Madagascar, unlike Coco who was kidnapped after the murder of his parents and taken to Canada, where he was rescued and raised by a family of Humans. Julyah, her three sisters and parents immigrated to Canada when their habitat was diminishing, food was scarce and the Humans of that area were beginning to hunt their kind down. She went to the same high school as Coco and immediately caught his eye, he who was happy as a single lemur. They eventually got married and had a son they named Junior. (Don't ask why... I'm trying to find him a first name to go with that... I named him Junior when I was eleven.)
So yah! Anyone who read that, especially considering it's an OC, you get a box full of cyber cookies.
BG was pics I found on google, as well as a few touch ups done on photoshop by myself.
Mainly for the fact that they've got breasts. They don't need to wear pants, And some of the female characters in this series don't, but that depends on what kind of culture they come from or if they're more modern or not. Some male characters in the series wear clothes as well, like Coco in this pic does in certain situations. But because they're animals and they don't have obvious "breasts", they don't usually wear clothes.
Wow. You created your own story? That. is. awesome. I wanna try!! I want to colour my drawings but... lets just say they're always not in line. Also, i can't get the shading and effects right. ... everything is SOO hard...
Both characters are adorable and the story about them is wonderful. I used to hear that sond on wensday nights when my church had a zumba class that was one of the songs we exercised to but I never knew the title of it. The person that did the class wasn't able to do it anymore sadly so I can't do it anymore. But I really love your drawing. They look almost like there danceing in the picture.
This is just beautiful, dear <333 I love the poses, the lightning and her dress As usual, a master piece with fabulous original characters. I can't get enough of your massive talent
___ Just....why Shakira? Why? ;w; She's....she's a shame for any respectful person from my country. She used to have good songs when she was a beautiful uknown young artist, and used to sing in spanish, and I used to have every single song she released...
Sorry about the rant, I just don't like her anymore, I don't like the way she says she's colombian but she acts and speaks like she was from somewhere else...*sigh*

cookies and some for you too, on sticking by your ocs lots of people would have given up by now, when their fanart is their main source of popularity and not all their fans seem so interested in their ocs..good for you
Thankies!! Well, Zoboomafoo was actually a Verreaux's Sifaka, but they are both Sifaka lemurs. The difference is that VS have a brown or black spot on the tops of their heads while CS do not. ( I kinda did lots of research, I'm an animal fanatic XDD)
