Friends by Michael W. Smith, sung by Jump 5 [link] Packing up the dreams God planted In the fertile soil of you Can't believe the hopes He's granted Means a chapter in your life is through But we'll keep you close as always It won't even seem you've gone 'Cause our hearts in big and small ways Will keep the love that keeps us strong
Chorus: And friends are friends forever If the Lord's the Lord of them And a friend will not say never 'Cause the welcome will not end Though it's hard to let you go In the Father's hands we know That a lifetime's not too long to live as friends.
With the faith and love God's given Springing from the hope we know We will pray the joy you'll live in Is the strength that now you show
But we'll keep you close as always It won't even seem you've gone 'Cause our hearts in big and small ways Will keep the love that keeps us strong
Chorus
First time I put that much detail into an animal. It's not a LOT of detail, and I know it's not perfect, but honestly, I'm satisfied with the results. This was a first timer, and I really pushed myself out of my comfort bubble.
I just fell in love with Perry even more. Drawing him really makes me feel a lot better.

Oh cool. Critique option... not like I don't try to give helpful hints anyway. xD I have nothing but praise for this. You keep getting better and better, Ash. You really do. The first hing I noticed (besides Perry looking absolutely adorable) is the color. Perfect use of complimentary colors. A nice strong yellow to draw you to the middle where you need to focus on the bracelet and charms. I might be nitpicky though and say it's touch strong... But by the same token I can't say tone it down because it really does just GRAB you. xD;; The shading is just wonderful. Period. The bil's shading is REALLY good. The subtle curves, the rounded edges. You definitely nailed the lighting on this. The bridge between his eyes seem to stand out a lot though. Not by much. Again, sometimes I'm nitpicky, you'll excuse me. XDDD The overall picture really has this feel of comfort, warmth, even a sense of protection, as the bracelet is really close to him. even though there is a cool color scheme you pick up that "implied warmth" that goes beyond the color palette and is in the area of mood and tone and all that.
TL;DR? For a relatively simple and straightforward piece, you shine yet again, as always. 8)
This picture is just incredible all over. The bright colors, the details in Perry and where he's sleeping, and the lovely shading are all magnificent. The color scheme is superb, especially the light lavender/purple/blue under him. What caught my eye and attention was how soft and delicate it looks in general. Amazing detail on the soft blanket/pillow/cushion-y area Perry is sleeping on (it's so soft I wish I could just go through the screen and lay my hands there for awhile!), and even Perry himself just looks absolutely hug-able, soft and adorable. It feels like I can simply touch the picture with my eyes. The way you kept it cartoony and added so much detail really helped make it feel real and alive. I especially adore the addition of the locket/collar/tag on his tail and the words in the corner. They don't take away from the picture itself, but rather add to it's emotion and meaning of the picture in general. If I could change anything in the picture (if I even wanted to), pehaps more detail or more softness, but otherwise, it's just perfect and it should be left the way it is.
Overall, I loved this emotional piece. It's marvelous, and truly a masterpiece.
aww I love the way you draw perry, and you're drawing overall. Also you're an awesome writer. I stayed up almost all night (I think I got like four hours of sleep?) Keep doing what you're doing and you'll succeed.
