Alvin: 3335 Diamond Avenue Estate... That's what it says on the letter he left. Simon: That is one big house. Alvin: It doesn't look any bigger than the house we grew up in with Dave in L.A. Simon: Are you *sure* this is the correct address, Alvin? Alvin: *reads letter over again* Spike said it was. Theodore: He bought us a mansion??? Alvin: He's got the money to do that. Theodore: But this house is huge! He bought us a mansion! Alvin: I think he just bought us a house that was big enough for three kids to run around in. Theodore: Check the letter again! Alvin: *irritated* What else is there for me to check, Theodore? *holds up letter* Look, it says right here what we would find: Brick wall surrounding the perimeters of the yard with a Gold gate; a Blossom tree in the front yard; Flower beds for Theo's flowers; GIANT yard; and a white house with burgundy roof shingles, a large patio and a two-car garage for the family car and Alvin's race car if needed. Simon: Holy flipping cow... Alvin: *turns letter over* And he said the backyard contained large garden for Theodore; patio with built in hot tub; space to put the BBQ; a tennis court for Simon and me and a Volleyball court for the kids... And plenty of extra space for the kids to run around on... Oh, and back gateway to the Atlantic ocean beach side... Neat, we even have a private beach to ourselves. Theodore: I'm dreaming... Alvin: And as a bonus, we're on the American border side of Hearttropolis, so while the two countries have joined together peacefully for the sake of Hearttropolis, we can still keep our nationality. The only thing we would need in order to get downtown is certified ID and proof of residence in Hearttropolis... Dude, this city's high tech. Spike says that while there's no border in the city itself, there are gates at every street separating Canada from the US. Heh; I'll betcha part of my job will be to patrol the border. That'll be cool--! Theodore: *yanking letter out of Alvin's hands* We're getting WAY off subject, Alvin. I still don't get why Spike would buy us such a huge house. We've only got three kids and Mia with us; Dave's moving into his own little house, remember? So why did Spike buy us a flippin' mansion? Alvin: Because we're the Chipmunks? Theodore: *gives him a skeptic look* Alvin: Well, what? What else would be a reason? We're only the most popular cartoon artists in the world, Teddy. Theodore: Gimme a better reason. Alvin: I'll give you three: Brittany, Jeanette and Eleanor. Maybe Spike thought that the girls would be with us when we moved. Theodore: But he mentioned in the letter that he knew that the girls went missing. Alvin: Then maybe he thinks we'll find them eventually. Theodore: But what about Jeanette? Alvin:... *uneasy* What about her? Theodore: Spike already knows what happened to her, Alvin. We visited him with the kids a week after the accident. Alvin: ... Mmmmaybe he thinks she'll come back too? I dunno, I came back to life that one time, for Pete's sake, Theodore. As far as I know, anything goes in this wacko time period. Theodore: But you weren't actually... you know, gone, Alvin. Spike already explained that. Jeanette, well--! Alvin: *irritated* Why are we even talking about this? This has nothing to do with the size of the house, Theodore! Theodore: Sure it does... Spike got us a huge house... the girls aren't here... and even if they do come back there's the chance that Jeanette won't... right? So why would he buy us a big house if Jeanette----! Simon: *CLEARS THROAT LOUDLY, catching his brothers' attention**Glares tiredly at them* I am standing right here, guys. Without earplugs at that. *Alvin and Theodore look on in awkward silence for a moment* Alvin: *points at house while putting on wry, toothy grin* Wh-wh-why don't we go and check out this mansion of ours, eh guys? Theodore: *hands Alvin the letter back and laughs nervously* Heheh, great idea, Alvin! *They walk off, leaving Simon behind* Simon: *groans and storms after them* Sometimes, they don't make this widower-business any easier for me than it is...
Seville house in Hearttropolis. Dave moved into his own little home because he was at the age where he wouldn't be able to handle too much chipmunk excitement XD
I'm still working on the whole Canadian/USA thing for Hearttropolis. The city is supposed to be so huge it was built pretty much over both the US and Canadian border at the coast of the Atlantic Ocean. Considering it's the capital city of Earth by this time in the future, it's kind of it's own little state. It still keeps a US/Canadian border within it, but for the most part, there's a border a few miles out of the city that wraps around it.
lots of dialogue for just a dorky sketch. Hopefully I can update it sometime. House design will be kept for my KICS series.
Debating now on working on commissions, homework or writing...
