Final Illustration Project - Supersition

So our final assignment for Editorial Illustration was on the theme of Superstition. we had to somehow incorporate text into the image. And considering most of my watchers here have read my PnF fanfic trilogy The Seer, you will know that one of the running gags in the story was Buford shouting out "Knock on Wood! every time they came face to face with danger... or, were about to XD

Considering I want to make The Seer an original story (meaning void of anything PnF in it) in the hopes of maybe getting it published, I used the cast of Imagination Jumpstart As teenagers. Leo doesn't actually have glasses during the adventure, but it made him stand out in this pic.

The characters are colored in Copic and Prismacolor markers and the BG is done in watercolor. It was the very first time I worked in such large scale with watercolor, and considering I usually like working with the wet-on-wet technique, the contrasts are very subtle. I was given some good tips during critique time so that makes up for it! But for the most part, I'm very happy with how this came out. I redesigned the Ranger outfit, but it still needs some work. Ralph and Leo were a butt to color XDDD

This is also a sort of gift for IJ's cocreator Mel. She was a darling to me earlier this week when I was having issues with my neighbours, and something happened this past weekend to rock her world, not in a positive way either. So if you guys can say a prayer for her and her family, that would be awesome. Even if you don't pray, maybe keep her in your thoughts.

Okeh; now I must finish reading something and then do some drawing homework before diving into bed and getting ready for a day of animating tomorrow!
